Future scenario

How does the future look like?

"It's hard to predict, especially about the future"

As we have seen in various films during our initial film club evenings, there's a very different views about the potential future development.

We'll get introduced to the concept of scenario planning and try to outline a few key scenarios for the Aurland region.

Once this is achieved we'll learn about 'back-casting', a process where by moving backwards from a point set in the future, we see which gradual steps are necessary to take to reach the initial point of development. By performing such process for Aurland, we're agreeing on which next steps to take; it will help shape our overall approach.

Ideally we will be able to share our discovery with the local community, be it through a poster exhibition, play, articles, story telling, musical etc; the students will be the ones to decide for the media, as a minimum it will be included on this website.

The process of learning more about the global issues, local consequences and significantly about approaches for participatory solutions for the dilemmas, the students gain a sense of involvement and empowerment over their reality. In addition the students learn valuable skills for future entrepreneurial endeavors.
